The Estevan Golden Eels swim club is a competitive swim club that runs in the summer from May to August. We have about 70 members ranging in ages from 5 to 19, but most swimmers are in elementary school. The best part of our club is when you hit your teen years, because our coaches start training us to become coaches of the younger swimmers. We're a noisy, high-energy, radical club where you race for yourself, and cheer on the rest of your team. We believe in Team Spirit and respect for each other and swimmers across the lane.
The Estevan Golden Eels will open the 2015 season with a swim camp at their local pool. Part of the swim camp will be Cyberbullying Workshop to help the swimmers learn how to treat one another in the cyber world. The camp is geared for swimmers 11 and over, just the perfect age for advanced education in texting and on-line activities. The Estevan Golden Eels motto is to Rule the Pool, but this year we will Rule the Cyberworld too.
I Am Stronger is a social movement, a call to action to stop bullying and cyberbullying in our communities. As an organization that believes in the power of change and that we can all make a difference, SaskTel wants to take a stand and help lead the change by starting a conversation, sparking change and connecting those of us who are willing to put ourselves on the front lines of the fight against bullying.
