Bishop James Mahoney is a Catholic High School located in Saskatoon, SK. We have student groups such as Student Representative Government and Saints in Action. These groups consist of students dedicated to making our school a safe and caring environment, as well as reaching out to the community through volunteering. We are excited to partner with I am Stronger and look forward to what the future will bring.
The Student Representative Government (SRG) and Saints in Action are two student groups who lead student wide initiatives throughout the school and community. This school year, students participated in Halloween for Hunger and collected food for the Food Bank. In October, our students raised money for the C95 Radio Marathon for Breast Cancer Research. The students had a week to complete their fundraising campaign which included a bake sale, photo booth and pledge forms. A teacher shaved his head when the financial goal was met. In December, students collected food donations for the Food Bank. The grant money BJM received last year was used to purchase a Polaroid camera and film. The camera has been used throughout the year to capture memories at photo booths. We rented a snow cone machine and purchased supplies when we hosted a school carnival and invited feeder elementary schools. The SRG and Saints in Action groups continue to have great ideas to include student and community participation!
I Am Stronger is a social movement, a call to action to stop bullying and cyberbullying in our communities. As an organization that believes in the power of change and that we can all make a difference, SaskTel wants to take a stand and help lead the change by starting a conversation, sparking change and connecting those of us who are willing to put ourselves on the front lines of the fight against bullying.
